Spotlight reporter Matt Carroll

Sexual abuse of children by members of the Catholic clergy is a national scandal, including here in Buffalo. The Boston Globe’s Spotlight team, including Matt Carroll, were the first reporters to break the story, which earned the newspaper the 2003 Pulitzer Prize for Public Service.

Investigative Post Editor Jim Heaney will interview Carroll about the Globe’s investigation, the Academy Award winning movie it inspired, and the ongoing scandal that has engulfed the Catholic Church in city after city.

Carroll is currently a journalism professor at Northeastern University.

The event will take place in the heart of Buffalo’s newest entertainment hot spot. Early purchase of tickets is encouraged due to expected high demand. The meet-and-greet will be limited to 50 people.

Loft at Thin Man Brewery, 166 Chandler St., Buffalo
$15 for general public; $10 for members. Meet-and-greet with Matt Carroll is $50.
