Investigative Post Reports: Lead poisoning
Dan Telvock recaps his award winning reporting for Investigative Post on lead poisoning in Buffalo and moderates a panel discussion with three national experts. Participants include Dr. Yanna Lambrinidou, an affiliate faculty member at Virginia Tech and founder of the non-profit children’s environmental health organization Parents for Nontoxic Alternatives; and Elizabeth McDade, Program Coordinator of the Rochester Safe and Efficient Homes Initiative. Dr. Marc Edwards, who the Washington Post described as “the heroic professor who helped uncover the Flint lead water crisis,” will participate via Skype. Edwards is professor of Civil Engineering at Virginia Tech. He and Lambrinidou also helped expose lead in the drinking water in Washington, D.C.
Gala dinner to benefit Investigative Post features Margaret Sullivan, Washington Post columnist and former New York Times public editor, as keynote speaker. Lee Coppola will be honored for his contributions to journalism in Western New York.
