Tickets on sale for our July 31 benefit show
It’s been a long time since we rock ‘n’ rolled, but that changes Thursday, July 31, when Investigative Post reprises its popular benefit concert at Sportsmen’s Tavern.
Tom Toles is teaming once again with Junkman’s Choir to entertain. Doors open at 5 p.m. and the music begins at 6:30 p.m. Be prepared for a blend of classic rock and Americana.
Admission is $25. Tickets can be purchased online at this link.
Proceeds will help fund Investigative Post’s reporting. We’re a nonprofit and the only news outlet in Western New York focused on watchdog journalism.
Toles is the Pulitzer Prize winning editorial cartoonist, late of The Washington Post and Buffalo News. He presently serves on Investigative Post’s board of directors.
“Everybody is wondering ‘What can I do to help, in this time of maximum challenge?’ Well, here’s one thing you can do right now,” Toles said.
“Come out and support real, aggressive, true journalism in your own community. And have a great time doing it. A night of music, beverages, camaraderie and delight, and all of the above are needed now more than ever. So do some good, and have a good time doing it! We look forward to seeing you there!”
The Junkman’s Choir includes Tom Fischer, Jim Celeste, Carl Krahling and Bill Blanford. Joe Rozler will sit in on keyboards.
“The musicians are happy to support Investigative Post’s work – it’s invaluable,” said Fischer. “And Tom Toles is a riot to play with.”
Sportsmen’s Tavern, considered Buffalo’s premier music club, is located at 326 Amherst St., near Grant Street, in the city’s Black Rock neighborhood. In recent months, the club expanded its seating capacity and added air conditioning.
