Woeful wages for women – especially in the Buffalo area

The first study of its kind has found that women get shortchanged in their paychecks worse in Western New York than all but a handful of the nation’s 50 largest markets. Nationally, women working full time get paid an average of 77 cents for every $1 made by a man. Women in the Buffalo market earn 73 cents, ranking the region third-worst behind only Seattle and Pittsburgh.
